Mkwawa Leaf Hosts Iftar Dinner in Sikonge and Spreads Blessings, DC Offers Words of Comfort

Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco Purchasing Company has demonstrated its commitment to the community by hosting an Iftar for hundreds of residents in Sikonge District, Tabora Region. This event serves as a token of appreciation to the community for its continuous support.

Speaking at the event, the Head of the Agriculture Department, Godfrey Gobbo, emphasized that the company will continue to collaborate with the community and provide support throughout the year. He pledged to expand the scope of tobacco purchasing during this year’s farming season.

The Iftar event took place on April 8th, 2024, marking the 28th day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Jumanne Fundi, representing the Sikonge District, requested the company to address the issue of tobacco smuggling in the district. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding the local tobacco industry. Sikonge District Commissioner, Cornel Magembe, expressed gratitude to the company and urged other companies to emulate Mkwawa Leaf’s example of community engagement.

A Unique Event

The communal Iftar, organized by Mkwawa Leaf, took place in sikonge and was attended by Muslims from various parts of the district. The event included prayers and sermons by religious leaders, emphasizing the importance of unity and love within the community.
